Carvings and sculptural objects arise from a direct encounter with the material. Each piece of wood carries its own shape, grain, tension and memory of the place it came from. When I work, I try not to cover this inner character with a fixed idea, but rather to follow it attentively and allow it to gradually emerge.
Sometimes a face appears, sometimes a vessel, a symbol or an object on the boundary between sculpture, functional object and ritual tool. What matters to me is not only the final form, but also the process itself — the moment when a rough piece of wood begins to transform and gain its own expression.
These works are connected by hand-guided tools, respect for natural material and the search for a form that does not feel like mere decoration, but like a living object with its own calmness, strength and presence.
