The mask was created as a personal gift for a close friend. Its shape grew from the natural grain and cracks of the ash wood, which I did not see as flaws, but as part of its expression and story.
Into the sculpture, I placed the intention of supporting the healthy expression of anger — the ability to recognise one’s own strength, give it space, and not let it turn against oneself or against others. The expression of the mask is therefore not only hard or closed. It carries tension, but also awareness, calmness and the possibility of transformation.
The purple stone in the forehead became a small centre of the whole composition. It recalls a point of attention and inner perspective: a place from which a person can experience their emotion, understand it and consciously give it the right direction.
